So we heard a little something something this morning…. Lamb of God will be performing two shows in early 2014. Once again, Durban and the other centres lose out, but Cape Town and Johannesburg will each have a show.
The details are still a bit sketchy, the dates don’t seem finalized but what we have heard is 24 January 2014 is one of the dates.
The venue set for Cape Town is Hillcrest Quarry – Hillcrest Wine Estate, in the Western Cape. No further info has been posted for JHB as yet, we will keep you posted if we hear anything.
Ticket prices set to be around R450-R550 looks like ticket sales will start on 25 July, according to computicket page. We are however starting to wonder if this didn’t go online a little too early by mistake, only time will tell.
Support artists listed are Mind Assault and The Drift
Event Type: Music, Hard Rock And Metal
Heavy Metal supporters in the Republic of South Africa have held their breath since early in 2012 when rumours first emerged that a local appearance by USA metal titans Lamb Of God was imminent. Hopes were dashed later that year when the remainder of the bands tour was cancelled in mid-2012 and activity curbed to within United States borders up until June this year. In fulfilling an old promise, Lamb Of God are finally on the road and catching up on a major back log of shows across the globe. The great news for South Africa is that two dates have been squeezed into the bands cram-packed touring schedule for early 2014. “With only two dates available, we`ll be touring them to Cape Town and Johannesburg,“ said Dawid Fourie of RAM Touring, “and we`re expecting that by playing those two cities, the maximum number of fans will get an opportunity to begin planning early for a trip to one of the larger centres.“ Lamb Of God, from the State of Virginia in the USA, were formed in 1990 with current members John Campbell on bass, Mark Morton on Guitar, and the legendary Chris Adler on Drums. Vocalist Randy Blythe joined in 1995 and drummer Chris`s brother Willie Adler replaced Abe Spear on guitar in 1999, resulting in the current line-up which spans more than a decade; and introducing the electrifying chemistry which has launched a successful career for the band we see today.

Social networks are abuzz with complaints of people not being able to get themselves the Chevelle tickets they have been desperately awaiting.
The tickets were supposed to be available at 9am 3 April 2013, aka today. At 9:10am there was still no sign of it.
While typing this post I was on the line to computicket who confirmed the JHB tickets were now available but not Cape Town as yet… They couldn’t tell me when Cape Town would be up.
Well a bit of drama, but I’m sure it will all be resolved shortly. Lately Computicket really hasn’t been doing themselves any favours, with the lack of support and cock ups like these. It’s a wonder why organizers don’t use other providers such as ticketweb etc who I have never had a problem with.
So we just got news about Xavier Rudd’s show dates in South Africa… Well he is playing the Parklife Festival in both Cape Town and Johannesburg… Yes once again no Durban show. What’s worse, in my opinion, is that the following week we have the most renowned music festival in South Africa taking place, Splashy Fen, which as far as I’m concerned is right down Xavier’s alley. He is synonymous with festivals, and that earthly vibe that goes along with Splashy. A little more disappointing is he will be playing alongside two of Durbans most talented musicians… Namely Farryl Purkiss and Guy Buttery. How can us Durbanites not feel cheated in this whole situation.

RAMfest CPT, 09 March 2013
Musica @ V&A Waterfront, CPT, signing session.
RAMfest DBN, 15 March 2013
RAMfest JHB, 16 March 2013
Soooo RamFest finally made the announcement regards to a replacement band for As I Lay Dying, who had pulled out of the event previously.. I bet you are wondering who it’s going to be… Well there is no replacement unfortunately. What we reckon is they should get someone like The Narrow to join the show, especially for the Durban show, that is now a bit lacking.
Well either way with Ramfest just around the corner, in just over a month, we thought we’d start filling your ears and eyes with some songs from the artists that are lined up to perform at the events…
